The Z Lite SOL offers a folding surface without inflation, a valve, or an air chamber that can go flat overnight. That simplicity is valuable for someone who already knows that a thin, firm foam surface suits their body, and it makes the pad an option for supplementing another mattress. It is not a substitute for checking the insulation needs of the trip. Its accordion stack also occupies a very different shape from a rolled air pad, which can affect pack attachment and vehicle storage. Treat the Regular length and 20-inch width as real fit constraints, especially if you turn widely in your sleep.
